forum logo YALSA Seeks Comments on Libraries and Teens Project Data Through Friday, November 1, the Young Adult Services Association (YALSA) is seeking public comments on the draft report [PDF] from its National Forum on Libraries and Teens project. The report aims to identify the ways in which libraries can adapt and change to meet the needs of 21st century teens.

“There’s still time left for people to weigh in,” says Beth Yoke, YALSA’s executive director.

The forum, a year-long effort funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, seeks to bring together stakeholders from libraries, education, technology, adolescent development, and the for-profit and nonprofit sectors.

Embargoed copies of the final report will be distributed to project partners and stakeholders on December 16; it will be published and posted online on January 6, 2014. The report is authored by Linda W. Braun, Maureen Hartman, Sandra Hughes-Hassell, and Kafi Kumasi.

YALSA is encouraging feedback through the forum’s online survey, through Twitter using the hashtag #yalsaforum, and through other online means, Yoke says.
